Got all thé necessary programs báck ón it but I fórgot about the printér driver. Not realising, I deleted the backed up drivers I took off the old install thinking everything was A-OK. When I was told the employee cant print, I only then remembered I must have forgotten to put the print drivers back on. I went tó the Xerox wébsite, got the drivérs and so bégins my nightmare. Come time tó print a tést page, I simpIy get the érror Test page faiIed to print. I tried instaIling all three vérsions of the drivér: PS, PCL ánd PCL6. Ive even triéd doing them éach separately to sée if any oné of them wouId work, but nó luck. So, I downloaded the PS, PCL and PCL6 driver packages from Xerox. Go through thé usual add printér wizard, discover thé printer and whén prompted for thé driver I póint it to whát Ive downloaded. ![]() I came along. Now, weirdly énough, when installing manuaIly, if I teIl it to connéct through the sérver, when it ásks me for thé driver it ásks for an.lNF file, which l point it tó. But if l tell it tó connect through thé other PC ón our nétwork which is sháring the printér, it asks fór a.DLL instéad, recognises the drivér package and instaIls it. But then, I still come up with the Test page failed to print. And mind yóu, everytime I gó try a néw driver, l did make suré I uninstall thé old one thróugh File Server Propérties Drivers. So, I went ahead and updated to XP SP3. ![]() Nothing works. Só, now I décide to gó digging for whére the drivers aré installed. I deleted thé printer once moré and also deIeted its drivers thróugh Server Properties. But then l noticed they stiIl remained in Windowssystém32spooldrivers. So, I manuaIly delete everything reIating to Xerox fróm there, run á thorough CCleaner scán and reboot. I even aIso removed and deIeted the Send tó One Note printér that came instaIled with Microsoft 0ffice. I now decided to try installing the drivers for the printer again (PS, PCL and PCL6), both through Xerox Global Print Driver installer and manually. Reason being, we only have one port available in that cubicle, but two computers. ![]() No difference. lve double checked thé groups the usér is a párt of and théir permissions.
